In mid-March, epay New Zealand marked its annual Day of Caring by organizing a beach clean-up event at Mission Bay. Staff members came together, equipped with sunblock and gloves, to comb the beach and surrounding grassy areas for litter. Their collection included everything from crocs and pizza boxes to children’s toys and cutlery—highlighting the extent of pollution in recreational public spaces.
 
The clean-up effort was both efficient and uplifting. With a strong sense of teamwork, the group managed to cover the beach, playground, and nearby park. Encouragement from the public and shared motivation kept the volunteers energized throughout the day, reinforcing the positive community impact of their work.
 
At the end of the event, the team was met with an unexpected act of kindness: a local cleaner offered to take all the rubbish bags for disposal. In appreciation, the team gave him a Prezzy Card, a gesture that added an extra sense of goodwill and camaraderie to an already rewarding day.
