ESCAPE 2004
Euronet Software Division—Breaking Communication Barriers, Enhancing Client Relationships

Euronet Worldwide hosted its second annual ESCAPE forum, "Euronet Software Clients Annual Peer Exchange," on Sept. 19-22 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas USA. More than 100 attendees and speakers participated.

ESCAPE 2004 The user forum incorporated both industry sessions and peer interaction into one setting. Representatives encompassed six continents and more than 20 countries representing Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas. The forum offered peer-to-peer discussions on client experiences, Euronet software solutions uses, benchmarking, market trends and industry changes. Roundtable discussions and product roadmaps were also featured with Euronet staff members facilitating a one-on-one discussion with Euronet's product managers and software users. Additionally, this year the forum introduced value added enhancement prioritization from ESCAPE participants, which not only allowed software users to prioritize future releases but also provide additional feedback on new ideas for consideration.

The ESCAPE keynote speaker was Dr. John Shelnutt, senior research economist with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Institute for Economic Advancement. Dr. Shelnutt shared his research insights on the "Short-Term Global Outlook" and future forecasts on key topics such as:

  • U.S. and international economic trends, issues, and projections
  • Regional differences, trends and projections

  • Implications and the bottom line

The user forum included an informative panel discussion with Euronet's Software Management Team composed of Dave Morgan from Global Business Development, Doug Goodwin from Development, Cindy Ashcraft from Implementations & Project Services, and Sheila Glasscock from Client Services.

"ESCAPE has come to be regarded as a highly interactive and informative forum between the Euronet Software Division and its clients. Each year, the forum provides a platform for clients to share their insights and provide feedback on our software products," said James P. Jerome, Euronet Worldwide executive vice president and managing director—Software Division. "This year's forum built upon the success of last year and enabled us to continue maintaining trusted and mutually-beneficial partnerships with our clients."

Optional product training was provided before and after the main forum. This allowed attendees to gain additional benefit from their travel by not only participating in the user forum, but also attending training courses provided in one setting:
  • ATM Advanced Concepts & Lab
  • AIM APIs & User Exits
  • Test Environments and Point Releases—on how to configure an Integrated Transaction Management (ITM) test environment and install ITM point releases.
  • Problem resolution covering WebEx and FTP server
  • Decrypting the mysteries of security (PVV, CVV, AVV)
  • Preparing for chip cards—covering a business overview of chip cards, which could potentially impact ITM systems.
