Euronet Interfaces Support Network Security Enhancements
Euronet now offers interfaces to industry-leading hardware cryptography providers such as Thales e-Security to meet increasing EFT network security mandates. These devices are the key to enabling new functionality such as Triple DES encryption, EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) chip card processing, American Express CSC encoding and verification, along with operational enhancements such as random key generation and multi-part key entry.
The EMV standard will take transaction security and functionality to new levels. By personalizing a cardholder's security information on a chip embedded in their card, functions such as risk management, offline authorization, stored value and much more can be accomplished. As these three networks bring this functionality to market, Euronet will offer the functionality to our ATM, POS, EFT and card management products.
Update Your ATM Communications with Euronet TCP/IP
Many financial institutions with legacy communications (SNA, Bisync, etc.) or communications outsourced to a telecom provider could benefit by using the Euronet TCP/IP communications module and taking advantage of an existing branch network. Additional TCP/IP functionality includes the ability to FTP files to and from your ATM devices. Some common examples are uploading Electronic Journals and downloading graphical ATM screens to the device.
Another option to enhance your ATM communications network: replace current Euronet Path I & V protocol converters with a Hypercom IEN concentrator. The Hypercom device can translate 3270 Bisync (Path I) or NCR ISO Async or Burroughs ASYNC Poll/Select (Path V) communications protocols to TCP/IP or X.25 for communications with the AS/400. Euronet can provide TCP/IP as a turnkey conversion by supplying the hardware, services and communications modules to ensure a smooth transition.

Euronet Masters MasterCard’s GCMS IPM Format
MasterCard’s Global Clearing Management System (GCMS) is modernizing its clearing platform. GCMS replaces the current INET message format with the more feature-rich IPM (Integrated Product Messages) format. IPM supports new technologies such as chip cards, e-commerce and member-to-member proprietary data.
Euronet’s IPM Clearing System software offers the ability to process incoming and outgoing batch file transactions from MasterCard using the IPM message format. The Euronet IPM Clearing System also provides a Windows-browser based user interface for exception processing. The system, available for IPM releases 1.5 and 2.2 or above, brings consistency in the life cycle of the transaction and gives an improved method of storage of authorization data for safe and chargeback processing. Future enhancements include settling in multicurrency. The elimination deadline of the INET format is set for April 2003. |
