On the strength of record-setting transaction growth during Q4 2000, Euronet Worldwide establishes a transaction record across its payment network with a 60% increase over 1999. As of December 31, 2000, Euronet owns and/or operates a total of 2,634 ATMs.

ALLTEL Communications and Euronet reach an agreement to develop a first-of-its-kind software application, giving ALLTEL's wireless Internet customers personalized access to their bank accounts at virtually any bank in the world.


November  

Euronet is ranked second overall on the 2000 Deloitte & Touche “Technology Fast 500”, a list of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in North America. Euronet won the honor based on its five-year revenue growth of 66,790%.

PTK Centertel of Poland begins offering Euronet's ATM Recharge service at Euronet ATMs throughout the country. This partnership is the first to offer the Euronet ATM Recharge via an online connection rather than through voucher purchases.


October  

To reflect the presence in markets other than Europe and North America to include Asia Pacific and Latin America, Euronet Services changes its brand name to Euronet Worldwide.


September  

Nova Bank in Greece installs Euronet's Integrated transaction Management (ITM) software as well as Euronet software modules for debit card and ATM network management.

Credigen Bank contracts with Euronet for complete outsourcing of a credit card management system and processing of POS transactions.


August   Citibank begins outsourcing ATM management in the Czech Republic to Euronet. The five-year contract marks the fifth ATM management outsourcing agreement between Euronet and Citibank.

July  

Bank of Cyprus-Greece becomes the first customer for Euronet's wireless banking software product, which uses short message service (SMS) technology to allow the bank's account holders to access their bank accounts through mobile telephones for the first time.

American Century Ventures, the strategic investment group for American Century, a Kansas City-based investment company managing more than $110 billion in assets, invests $6.1 million in Euronet through a private placement offering.


June  

Seylan Bank, the leading private bank in Sri Lanka, becomes Euronet's second credit card system customer in Sri Lanka when it chooses the Integrated Credit Card System (ICCS).

Budapest Bank in Hungary signs a new 10-year ATM outsourcing agreement with Euronet, resulting in the company's acquisition of the bank's entire network of 145 ATMs, which will remain branded with the Budapest Bank logo.

Euronet closes Q2 2000 with new software sales contracts of $5.3 million, the highest level of quarterly software sales in the company's history.


May  

ABN AMRO Hungary outsources a network of over 100 ATMs to Euronet under a multiyear agreement. The deal includes bank-owned ATMs currently located in ABN AMRO Hungary branches, as well as the deployment and installation of several new ATMs carrying the ABN AMRO brand name.

Euronet's ATMs in the Czech Republic begin selling prepaid mobile phone e-vouchers in several denominations to customers of EuroTel.


April  

Citibank chooses Euronet to deploy and operate 250 ATMs for Citibank-Greece under an eight-year outsourcing agreement.

DiBa, Germany's largest "direct" bank, signs an ATM network services agreement with Euronet that provides DiBa's accountholders with no-fee access to the ATMs serviced by Euronet in Germany.

Eighteen Wal-Mart stores in Germany complete installation of ATMs serviced by Euronet.

Through an agreement with GE Capital Bank, Euronet's ATMs in the Czech Republic begin accepting bankcards bearing the Europay or MasterCard logos.


March  

Euronet establishes an office in Athens, Greece and completes all regulatory requirements to enter the ATM management outsourcing business in that country.

Monthly transactions on ATMs owned or operated by Euronet pass the 4 million mark.

Asia becomes the third continent where Euronet will provide ATM transaction switching services through the creation of a joint venture company in Indonesia that will initially service a shared network of 400 ATMs owned by three Indonesian banks. Euronet launches this undertaking with PT Sigma, a local software distributor and business partner that has been selling the company's software for more than 10 years.

Westpac-Fiji, the Fijian subsidiary of Westpac Banking Corporation, chooses Euronet's Gold-Net software to drive ATM and POS systems, issue Visa debit cards, and acquire Visa and MasterCard transactions.
